My name is enzo, I am 20 years old and I am french, I like ants, I have a lot of colonies (myrmica, camponotus herculeanus, camponotus cruentatus, lasius, messor barbarus ( 2 queens in the same colony) etc)
I hope discover a lot of things with this forum !

You have two queens in your Messor barbarus colony? Are you sure that is Messor barbarus? Or another specie Messor? (I thought Messor barbarus can't have more than two queens in the same colony?)

I know another Messor sp. can have this. (Don't remember which it was.)

I could be wrong but I thought messor structor is polygyne so maybe your messor barbarus isn't messor barbarus but messor structor?

no is impossible because I bought 2 colonies of messor barbarus, one on fourmis.fr et one on antskalytta, they re both professionals, I can't think that they could make a mistake..

Yes it is interesting, I mixed two young colonies of messor barbarus, and the queens work together since 1 year !
For camponotus cruentatus, y colony is young in a tube...
otherwise, if you are interested, my cousin come to find a lot of gynes camponotus cruentatus, he shells or exchanges it
